Personal Budget Builder does NOT contain any advertisements. It is good, clean, hopefully useful software, without any of the crud that often comes with "free" software.
This site utilizes advertisements from Google and MyPoints to help offset the cost of hosting the site.
The ads in the Google bar to the right are automatically generated by Google. It has some nifty logic to try to "understand" this site and create ads that seem relevant, but I have no control over the ads.
The MyPoints program (the bar at the bottom) is real, and may be worth your time. I really have earned valuable gift cards with MyPoints.
It is technically "free", but to get stuff, it requires work from you. You will have to create an account, and they will send you email advertisements. In these emails, there is a button. You click the button, and go to the site that is trying to sell you something.
Just by clicking the button in your email, you will earn 5 points. Once you earn enough points, you can cash them in for gift cards. They have a pretty good selection of gift cards.
